Are you winging it?

Are you winging it?

Do you have a first aid needs assessment for your workplace or are you just guessing at what you actually need and winging it?

It seems that lots of businesses out there are actually just for want of a better word ‘winging it’ when it comes to there provision of fist aid.

The HSE cant tell you what First Aid provision you need to have in place in your work setting as you the employer are best positioned to make that decision.

However any First aid provision must be ‘adequate and appropriate in the circumstances’. This means that you must provide sufficient first aid equipment (first aid kit), facilities and personnel at all times.

In order to decide what provision you need to make you should undertake a first-aid needs assessment. This assessment should consider the circumstances of your workplace, workforce and the hazards and risks that may be present. The findings will help you decide what first-aid arrangements you need to put in place.

If you haven’t got a first aid needs assessment, Please feel free to contact us and we can send you one. If you need assistance in completing it. Please feel free to contact us.
